Apply Now! – Thrive with Arts, Culture and Heritage Grant Funds

People involved in the world-renowned arts, culture, heritage, festivals and events scene of Westmorland and Furness are being urged to apply for two major grant funds worth a total of just over £260,000.

Applicants have until Monday, 2nd June 2025 to apply to the £175,276 ‘Thrive with Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund’ and the £85,000 ‘Festivals and Events Fund’.

The two schemes have been relaunched by Westmorland and Furness Council after they ran so successfully last year.

Haverflatts Lane Road Closure

Temporary Road Closure: Haverflatts Lane, Milnthorpe 22nd – 24th May

A temporary road closure has been put in place to allow Fibrus to carry out utility works which are expected to commence 22nd May 2025 and anticipated to take 3 days to complete.

Please see below details of the extents of the restriction(s) and any alternative route(s) which may be in place, the relevant legal notice can be viewed here  and a location plan clearly showing these extents can be found here.

Location: Haverflatts Lane, Milnthorpe from its junction with the C5071, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 490m.

Alternative Route: A suitable alternative route will be signed and made available via the C5071 and Kirkgate Lane.  A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

N.B Passage for Emergency Vehicles will be maintained where required for the duration of this restriction.
