MFG Strawberry Tea Raises £450!

The recent ‘Strawberry Tea’ hosted by the Monday Friendship Group raised £450 for their chosen charity for this year, the Milnthorpe Food Bank. Thank you to all who supported the event.

With other funding raised, a total of £900 was sent to the Milnthorpe Food Bank.

EV Chargers at the Arnside Educational Institute Back in Service

Arnside Educational Institute are pleased to say that the electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the Arnside Educational Institute have now been repaired and are fully operational.

Unfortunately, the repairs were outside the Institute’s control, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while the work was carried out.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are delighted to have the chargers back in service for the benefit of our members, visitors and the wider community.

Update About Blister Pack Collection at Arnside Chip Shop

Unfortunately, Arnside Chip Shop can no longer collect medical blister packs in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind, as Morecambe Metals – who were accepting them, had their last load rejected at the smelting plant.
It seems a waste to put them in the general waste, and apparently certain larger branches of Boots will take 5 blister packs per week and will give 100 advantage points. The Boots system seems to be 5 packs that you register via a photo, then, once they’re OK’d, you can drop them off and get your points. However, you can drop as many off as you want though if you don’t want points. Superdrug stores that have a pharmacy in them also take them. 

Arnside Chip Shop are still collecting tin foil and aluminium cans in aid of Guide Dogs for The Blind at the Chip Shop.
At other points around the village, there are collecting bins for aluminium cans. The revenue from these goes to the renovations at the W.I. Hall.
