‘The Alan Hull Songbook’ Gig on Saturday, 11th July raises £1500 for CancerCare
The organisers of Saturday’s (11th July) gig ‘The Alan Hull Songbook’ at the W.I. & Village Hall, would like to thank everyone who attended for the great sum of over £1500 raised for local chharity, CancerCare, from bar, ticket and raffle sales. Thanks also to the enormous generosity of local businesses and musicians (from as far away as Newcastle, and who played for light expenses only).
The amazing Dave Hull-Denholm band (Lindisfarne frontman) played songs from the Alan Hull songbook. Tony Farren from Windermere, opened the gig with his unique folk style and was very well received. Dave, Evan and the band had been setting up all day and played a 95 minute set of both well-known and lesser known songs from Alan’s repertoire – including Lady Eleanor, Run For Home, Clear White Light and many more with the audience singing along too!
A great night was had by all!
