Silverdale Renaissance present The Mancunium Consort, a relatively new group – young and enthusiastic, based in Manchester.
They will be show-casing their favourite repertoire of choral music from the 15th to the 21st centuries, including early music treasures such as Tallis’s ‘If Ye Love Me’ and Palestrina’s ‘Surge Illuminare’, but also modern classics – among them Rachmaninov’s ‘Bogoroditse Devo’, Finzi’s ‘My Spirit Sang All Day’ and Whitacre’s ‘Sleep’.
You may not have heard of the band before, but they have been recommended to us by two established ensembles who have already performed for us: The Gesualdo Six and Ensemble In Echo.
Having seen them perform, we were impressed with the lovely tone, beautifully balanced and sensitively delivered.
Should be a good night!
Tickets cost from £5 – £20. (£5 for under 25’s)
