Bittern Countryside Community Interest Company AGM

BCCIC (Bittern Countryside Community Interest Company) is a social interest company set up to benefit people living in the Arnside’s and Silverdale National Landscape. We were incorporated as a social enterprise in 2007 and you can learn more about our aims and activities here.

As an incorporated company, we are obliged to hold an AGM every year, and we like to use the occasion to raise the profile of our work in the local community and also offer an interesting talk from a local expert on some aspect of the landscape. This year there is a fascinating talk from local historian Simon Williams, about the unsuccessful attempt in the 1870’s to reclaim land from the ravages of the sea in Morecambe Bay.

These will precede the AGM which is generally quite short, with the primary aim of updating our shareholders on our financial position and electing/re-electing our Board of Directors.

The formal AGM will be preceeded by refreshments, and anyone wishing to leave before the AGM starts is very welcome to do so, although everyone is welcome to stay for this, although only shareholders can vote.
