Next Date

Items that can be looked at for repair include:

  • textiles/clothing
  • electrical
  • mechanical and wooden items
  • PAT testing for small household electrical items
  • Volunteers from AbilityNet can provide advice on problems with laptops, phones or tablet e.g. memory problems or running slowly.

KingSharp’s mobile unit will be sited outside today – sharpening kitchen knives, scissors, tools and garden cutters. Charges start from £3. Card reader available. Next time they will be in Arnside is July.

Contact Alison Sandford on ali@thesandfords.plus.com to check that there is a repairer who can look at your item.

Please bring cash for running costs and cafe. Please make sure any items brought in to be looked at for repair and/or advice are in a clean condition, particularly clothing.

Everyone is welcome to pop in and see how the Repair Cafe works, have a cup of tea and chat at the Fair Trade cafe. Any cash donations that we receive pay for the materials/parts needed for the repairs and other ongoing costs such as hall hire and insurance.

We are always looking for more volunteer repairers (e.g. for upholstery, jewellery, pottery) to join our friendly group! Please spread the word and follow us on the new Arnside Repair Cafe Facebook page.

  • No Repair Cafe in May. Next one will be 14th June as part of The Big Green Well-Being Week. See forthcoming dates on the poster.

This is a recurring event. Repeating every last Monday.
