Advanced ropework course covering knots, splicing, whipping and lashing – all traditional maritime skills. The course includes a soup lunch.
Phil Bleazey, the course tutor, is a professional engineer, who has spent the last 30 years making woodwind instruments – flutes, whistles and recorders.
He runs courses in making instruments and engineering. In the 1980/90s, he built and sailed his own yacht, an Anderson 20,in the Thames Estuary.
The course is in aid of ‘Spray’, a Morecambe Bay Prawner built in Arnside in 1896.
