The Old Oak

The Old Oak

Director – Ken Loach Running Time: 1h 53m Friday

‘The Old Oak’ is the last remaining pub in a once thriving pit village somewhere in northern England. It acts as a community centre for the demoralised locals.

When a group of Syrian refugees is moved into the village, the inevitable rift develops between the two groups. The formation of an unlikely friendship between the pub landlord and a young Syrian woman opens up new possibilities for the divided village. It is a moving drama about loss, fear and finding hope.
