The Millwright’s Craft – An Illustrated Talk with Martin Watts

The Millwrights Craft

Retired Millwright, Martin Watts, will return to the mill this month for a fascinating illustrated talk spanning his 50 year career – including his time spent at a variety of mills across the country, and the pivotal role he played in the restoration of Heron Mill where the machinery had gone untouched for nearly 30 years!

The talk will also cover Martin’s training in three-dimensional design and architecture, his time as the curator at Worsbrough Mill – a working watermill museum in South Yorkshire, and his life as a freelance millwright and mill researcher on over 200 water, wind, and animal-powered mills!

With millwrighting as a trade sadly in decline across the country, this talk provides a rare opportunity to hear an experienced Millwright talk about his craft!

Tickets are priced at £5 per person, and can be securely booked via our Sum Up store HERE.
