Quest Talk: The Winter Gardens – Morecambe’s Sleeping Giant

For the second talk in our 2024/5 programme, Peter Wade will describe the project to restore and revitalise the Winter Gardens, opened in 1897 as the Victoria Pavilion, a grand variety theatre and concert hall.

Closed in 1977, the Grade II listed building is being restored by a preservation trust, who have been working at this massive task since 1986.

In spite of increased costs, we are able to maintain the discounted members’ subscription at £18 for all 12 talks and guest admission at £2.50 for a single talk, including refreshments.
