Summer Concert

International Classical Soprano, Lorna Kelly, and our own super talented classical piano accompanist Ken Forster are to be reunited for one beautiful summer afternoon concert this August.
Lorna lived most of her life in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe where she had a career as a classical soprano spanning several decades which included a repertoire of oratorio, opera, operetta, musicals and concert arias. Her speciality was song recitals with a wide repertoire of art songs by English, American, German and Italian composers.
Lorna also sang regionally in such countries as South Africa (with the National Symphony Orchestra), and Bulgaria, Germany and USA. She also had her own private vocal studio and presented her students in many concerts over a span of 25 years.
Lorna retired to the Lake District in 2017 and having worked with Ken Forster is delighted to return to the concert platform to sing her favourite English and American art songs.

Ken Forster has diplomas in piano performance and accompanying and has been involved in music making in this area for over 30 years. He plays regularly with local choirs, and individual singers and instrumentalists, from beginners to professionals, in concerts, festivals, workshops and exams.
