David Battersby, originally from Lancashire, studied at both the London College of Music and the Royal College of Music winning numerous awards, competitions and bursaries. He then went on to study with Martino Tirimo at Morley College and has performed at venues including Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Leeds Town Hall, RNCM Concert Hall and St. Martin’s in the Fields. Having moved back ‘up north’ he is in demand as a pianist, accompanist and chamber musician, recently giving concerts for Sedbergh Music Festival, with the Eberle String Trio and has regular partnerships with the violinist Julian Cann and soprano Rachel Little. He works as official accompanist for music festivals and competitions and is the accompanist for all four Amabile Choirs, Staveley Choral Society as well as having worked with Cumbria Festival Chorus and Levens Choir. playing works by, Scarlatti, Scriabin, John Ireland and Gershwin.
