‘Community Composting’ – A Talk By Closing Loops

Community Composting by Closing Loops

Could Arnside run a successful compost heap? Interested? Come and find out more at this enlightening talk by Closing Loops.

Closing Loops is a collaborative project created to stimulate a thriving local economy in North Lancashire. The Closing Loops project is building a composting network for North Lancashire to encourage community composting as an accessible way for everyone to get into composting, and to spread composting awareness, skills and knowledge in the community.

If you are interested in transforming food and garden waste into a valuable resource, stop spending money on compost and stop food waste going into landfill, then composting is for you.

We don’t have a food waste collection here in Arnside and won’t have one for some time. Our waste food is literally a resource being wasted in front of our eyes. In a world where we are increasingly looking for ways to reduce waste, boost health, lower carbon and improve our wellbeing overall, is this an important tool, that we as a village, could add to our ‘tool kit’? Let’s find out.

Everyone is welcome, but as it is expected to be a popular talk, it is necessary to book your place by visiting: sustainablearnside.org.uk

N.B. This talk will be part of the monthly Sustainable Arnside meeting but will be the first item at the meeting, with no obligation to remain for the rest of the meeting.
