Arnside Lecture Group Spring Series of Lectures

Arnside Lecture Group present their Spring 2025 series of lectures on the theme ‘Lowther and its People’.

A range of speakers will paint a picture of the Lowther Castle estate and some members of the Lowther family. The Lowthers have been among the most signidicant landholders in Cumberland and Westmorland. The modern Lowther Estate is a major enterprise and tourist attraction.

The fourth lecture in the series is on ‘The Vegetarian Viscount: John Lowther (1655-1700)’ with Ivan Day, a Food Historian and Country House Consultant.
