Arnside & District Natural History Society Summer Field Trip: Heald Brow Ladybird and Shieldbug Hunt
-
Date
9 June 2025
-
Time
12:30 - 15:30
Meet on Hollins Lane outside Wolf House Gallery at 12.30.
GR: SD462742; w3w: cherub.clown.roosters
Road parking nearby.
We will take a short walk to Heald Brow where there are varied habitats for us to explore. Ladybirds and Shieldbugs are a great introduction to insects. They are attractive insects that tend not to run or fly off when you find them and so are easier to photograph and to try to identify.
We will look for as many of them as we can find, both adults and the earlier stages. Participants will be given handouts on these two groups of insects. Finish around 15.30
