Sponsored 24 Hour Bible Reading for Rosemere Cancer Foundation

To help raise funds for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation at the Royal Preston Hospital, Ian Service is leading a sponsored 24 hour bible reading.

Beginning at 10.45am on 23rd June 2024, a team of readers will read aloud from the whole of the New Testament – and most of the Old Testament!

As you can imagine, he needs some help……..

If you are willing and able:

  • Sign up on the list at the back of St James’ Church to read one (or more) of the ninety 15 minute time slots and try and get some sponsorship.
  • Consider sponsoring someone who is taking part.
  • Sign up to come and listen for a particular time slot.
  • Make time to come along and hear God’s word being read.

Temporary Road Closure - Black Dyke Road

Temporary Road Closure – C5097 Black Dyke Road, Arnside, 18/06/24, Night Time Works

A temporary road closure has been put in place to allow Network Rail to carry out tamping works which are expected to commence 18th June 2024 and anticipated to take 1 night between the hours of 2240 and 0540 to complete.

Please see below details of the extents of the restriction and any alternative routes which may be in place, the relevant legal notice can be viewed here and a location plan clearly showing these extents can be found here.

Location: a section of the C5097 Black Dyke Road, Arnside, from its junction with the Suruyne, extending in a predominately easterly direction for a distance of approx. 135m.

Alternative Route: A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of Black Dyke Road, Briery Bank, Silverdale Road, Cove Road, Park Road, Ford Lane, Cold Well Lane and Black Dyke Road.

Access for Emergency Vehicles will be maintained where required for the duration of these works.
